For many of us, Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, a time for family gatherings, firing up the grill, and enjoying a well deserved long weekend. But at Kramer’s Market, this year’s holiday carries a much deeper, more personal meaning.
This Memorial Day, Augusto and Sara are launching a new initiative that is incredibly close to our hearts. We are officially opening a donation drive at the market to support a cause that matters deeply to our us: Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP).
A Legacy of Giving Back
This initiative isn't just a corporate partnership; it’s a continuation of a family legacy. Sara’s father, Walter Ledger, dedicated much of his life to supporting this incredible organization. He understood that the freedoms we enjoy every day are bought and paid for by the brave individuals who step up to serve our country.
Walter passionately supported WWP throughout his life, and as friends and a business, we want to honor his memory by continuing that mission. We want to ensure that those who have given so much to our nation are never forgotten.
Today and every day, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are proud to honor their memory through supporting our nation’s veterans as a corporate supporter of WWP.
Kramer's Market is proud to support WWP to help provide life-changing programs and services for America’s wounded, ill, or injured post-9/11 veterans and their families at no cost to them.
More Than Just A Cookout
When you walk into Kramer’s Market this week, you’ll see our new donation box at the register. We know everyone is busy planning their holiday menus and gathering with loved ones. But as we prepare for the cookouts and celebrations, we want to challenge our community to take just one moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day.
Our veterans and their families have faced unimaginable sacrifices. A donation to WWP, no matter how small, gives something invaluable back to them. It funds mental health programs, physical rehabilitation, housing assistance, and career counseling for post-9/11 veterans at absolutely no cost to the warriors themselves.
How Can You Join Us
We want to make it as easy as possible for our neighbors to make a difference. The next time you stop by Kramer's Market, you can support the initiative in two ways:
Register Donation Box: Drop your spare change or cash directly into our secure lockbox at checkout. 100% of these cash funds will be sent directly to WWP.
Give Digitally: If you don't carry cash, we have placed a QR code at the register. Scanning it or clicking the link HERE will direct you to our fundraising page where you can donate securely.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us honor Walt’s legacy, remember the fallen, and lift up the heroes who are still with us.
Have a beautiful, safe, and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.
Walter Ledger with his daughters, Christine (Ledger) Reece and Sara Ledger.
